we do not want to be right
we do not want to be left
we want to be in the middle
of our lives
of our destiny

it is right
to stand with sisters
not to dismiss them
we are not invisible
though you strive to make us so
force us to our deaths
under the guise of supporting life
that you do not truly revere
that you do not kindle
instead extinguishing our light
our breath
our very being
forcing your laws on others
in the land where the law dictates
it is separate from church

we do not want to be right
we do not want to be left
we want to be in the middle
of our lives
of our destiny

we do not want
to be erased
